2023 Bible Reading Plan
As we were thinking and planning for 2023, we feel that God is encouraging us to make sure our thoughts and actions are rooted in scripture. We are encouraging everyone to make a commitment to read through the Bible this year. This will help us to focus on the Promises of God as he leads us, build unity within the congregation as we are strengthened by reading common Scriptures, and it creates a schedule for those preaching to base their sermons on.
We are asking that the church to read the Robert Murray M’Cheyne’s Bible Reading Plan. The Scottish minister developed this plan in December 1842 for his flock. It will allow you to read the whole Bible, and NT and Psalms twice in a year.
Resources:
Daily Use:
- Use the first 3 passages to read the Bible once, but add the 4th passage as a repeat for the NT and Psalms.
Example:
January 1:
- Genesis 1 & Matthew 1; Ezra 1 & Acts 1
M’Cheyne intended for the first 2 passages to be read with the Family, while the last 2 passages were intended for Private encouragement
Thank you,
Pastor Todd and Pastor Ben
